I love french toast on the weekends but recently have wanted a change from the boring old system of syrup and butter. Here are some of my new favorite ways to eat French Toast.
-Maple Syrup, Butter, and Bacon Bits. A bit of a heartier breakfast for those cold winter mornings when you need to be warmed up as soon as possible. I also love adding some fresh fruit on the side like berries or bananas.
-Cinnamon Sugar, Peanut Butter with Bananas: The classic combination that is loved by many. The bananas are a great way to add some extra flavor without adding anything else and the peanut butter is able to give you a little bit of protein in your breakfast.
-Sour Cream, Strawberries, Nutella: A simple yet delicious combination that I often love having for dessert as well as breakfast. The sour cream provides a nice little tang to the sweet strawberries and Nutella.
-Eggs, Cheese: The most basic way of eating french toast is with butter and eggs on top. I like adding an egg into the mix because it helps make sure that all my breakfast cravings are met in one bite. Eggs can be fried over easy, scrambled or even boiled.
-Pancakes, Waffles: The way that you traditionally make french toast is with bread and egg to create a light breakfast item. However, I really enjoy switching it up by adding in some pancake mix or waffle batter instead! It gives the French Toast an entirely new texture while still filling me up.
-Bananas, Peanut Butter: I love peanut butter and bananas so this is a perfect way to spice up my french toast without adding any other ingredients. You might have seen the combination before but it’s never too late to try something new!
